Variety Information
One of two selections from a Sugar Rush Peach x Aji Lemon Drop cross by Richard Kuehnel on Protection Island in Nanaimo, Canada (Small Island Seed Co.) Appears to have been released as F3 or F4 seeds in 2021, so it's still fairly unstable.
Small Island Seed Co: Although the variety is not yet stable; they all offer outstanding flavour and sweetness, and the yields are extremely high. A single plant can yield over 200 pods. This pepper is a perfect combination of the citrusy flavour of a Lemon drop pepper, and they have the sweetness of Sugar Rush Peach. The plants grow to be about 6 feet tall, and 4 feet wide, but they take well to a good pruning, so they can be kept as large as desired; staking is highly recommended. The plants are extremely vigorous, and can tolerate many different weather conditions, except for frost. As well as being some of the first peppers to ripen, they're also one of the last varieties to stop. The pods taste amazing fresh; they make a great snacking pepper for those that enjoy a bit of heat, and they make an excellent hot sauce too. They can also be dried and ground into a very sweet and candy-like powder.
White Hot Peppers: It is very sweet with a touch of heat, better than both parents of the cross for me. Very productive and nice size pods, so plants will need some good support.
